  • This is the most beautiful church you have ever seen with the best Pastor you have ever heard speak. In addition, their musical program is the best I have heard.

Why did they have to close it down and combine it with the church of the Holy Oilcan? They only had 60 members, First Church has 300 members. And since the Oilcan is on University Circle, which is not real close to First Church, a lot of members will be lost and perhaps even quit attending church altogether. Was it just a question of economics, or did something political go on with the higher up decision makers? I heard that a Bishop favored the Oilcan and that's why it was chosen.

On the good side, at least Dr. Chalker, the pastor, will be working at the Oilcan. So many will be able to enjoy his wonderful spiritual leadership.

Myself and 4 other brothers and sisters were baptized there, a couple of their kids were baptized there, and my sister was married there. It is a sad day for us that this family, which has served our family for 3 generations, is closing.
